English television personality, producer, and entrepreneur Simon Cowell was born on October 7, 1959, in Lambeth, London.
He grew up in the village of Elstree, Hertfordshire. Cowell's mother, Julie, was a ballet dancer and socialite, while his father, Eric, was a music producer and real estate developer. He has five siblings, four of whom are half-siblings.
Cowell attended Radlett Preparatory School and then Dover College.
He went on to study sociology at Windsor Technical College but never pursued a career in the field.
