Happy Valley's Sarah Lancashire said 'tough' first marriage ended 10 years too late
Sarah Lancashire has been happily married to TV producer Peter Salmon for 22 years, but before this, she was in a 10-year marriage to music teacher Gary Hargreaves.
The pair met when she was 18 and were married by the time the Happy Valley actress turned 22.

They share two sons: Thomas and Matthew.
However, the Sergeant Catherine Cawood star, now 58, previously claimed that the only reason she wed Gary was because she fell pregnant.
She told The Telegraph in 2001: “I got married only because I was pregnant.
Simple as that.
“I am a very traditional girl and was horrified at the thought of having a child out of wedlock. I didn't want a child of mine to be different or have fingers pointed at.
